And here's a meme that an archeologist friend posted. As archeology almost became my major in college, I found this to be pretty exact :)
Gosh how amazing would it be to visit some of those places??? Thanks for the pictures! I'll live through those instead, because I know I won't ever get to visit in person. :)
ReplyDeleteApril, never say never... :)
ReplyDeleteI finally got to visit a few this summer. I saw a few great archeological sites in Rome, a Greek theater in Sicily, archeology of Athens (my life-long dream come true) and archeology of Ephesus, Turkey. It was amazing!
My next goal is to go to an actual live on-going archeological dig!
AWESOME! I imagine archaeology is an interesting field, but one filled with a lot of frustrating time - digging, waiting, hoping. Hmm...that sounds like another profession. ;)
ReplyDeleteYep LOL I guess many professions look more exciting and shiny until you dig into the particulars of the job (no pun intended). And yes, it does sound a lot like the profession all of us here are aspiring to... :D
ReplyDeleteI won't show this to my sister since my niece is starting her Masters Degree in a similar field and they are already freaking out about the cost. lol I'll let them think she'll be the next Lara.
ReplyDeleteThere are some fantastic places there. I love the last poster :-)
ReplyDeleteMichael, LOL, yes, it's probably a good idea not to show them this. Hey, maybe she will be the next Lara ;)
ReplyDeleteSarah, and there's so many more!
Wow, those pictures are like nothing I'd ever seen! I couldn't imagine being an archaeologist. I'd get so distracted by everything.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower. Glad I found your blog, it's very interesting. :)
These are breathtaking! It makes me want to travel so bad! I've been dying to see the ruins in Mexico. Soon, soon...
ReplyDeleteShelley, thank you for following! Yes, I think I'd get very distracted as well :)
ReplyDeleteHeather, I've seen the Mayan ruins near Mexico City and near Cancun. Both are breathtaking and amazing. You'll have a wonderful experience when you go!
I loved this. I'm here for the Platform Building Campaign and look forward to getting to know you and your work. ~Cheers
ReplyDeleteChristopher, I'm glad you enjoyed the post. Nice to meet another fellow campaigner! Thanks for following.
ReplyDeleteLove the last photo the most ;-) (the one about archaeologists and what they're actually doing!)
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing is that many archaeologist were indeed inspired by Indiana Jones :)
