Today, I thought I'd post a few great photos of archeological sites around the world. Enjoy!

And here's a meme that an archeologist friend posted. As archeology almost became my major in college, I found this to be pretty exact :)

  1. Gosh how amazing would it be to visit some of those places??? Thanks for the pictures! I'll live through those instead, because I know I won't ever get to visit in person. :)

  2. April, never say never... :)
I finally got to visit a few this summer. I saw a few great archeological sites in Rome, a Greek theater in Sicily, archeology of Athens (my life-long dream come true) and archeology of Ephesus, Turkey. It was amazing!
My next goal is to go to an actual live on-going archeological dig!

  3. AWESOME! I imagine archaeology is an interesting field, but one filled with a lot of frustrating time - digging, waiting, hoping. Hmm...that sounds like another profession. ;)

  4. Yep LOL I guess many professions look more exciting and shiny until you dig into the particulars of the job (no pun intended). And yes, it does sound a lot like the profession all of us here are aspiring to... :D

  5. I won't show this to my sister since my niece is starting her Masters Degree in a similar field and they are already freaking out about the cost. lol I'll let them think she'll be the next Lara.

  8. Wow, those pictures are like nothing I'd ever seen! I couldn't imagine being an archaeologist. I'd get so distracted by everything.
